If a comedian like Al Franken got a decade just for asking (not to mention a Senate job), why shouldn't I ask for an entire millenium!

A noted (and sometimes facetious) adventurer, autodidact, bon vivant, poker player, hiker, skier and sailor, I also have 21 years experience in Unix/Linux/Mac OS X system administration, Apache/PHP/MySQL/Adobe CS3 web development, and C++/Objective-C programming. Most of my experience was in the R&D world at Intel in support of information retrieval, content management and information sharing applications. Search engines are a specialty.

I just updated the Adventures page with a summary of ideas people are kicking around to create some long beginner runs at Tahoe Donner downhill with a backside lift. I also posted an XCD route using Tahoe Donner downhill's lifts to speed access to Donner Ridge and Hawk's peak. It's a much more mellow version of the lift-served, extreme backcountry skiing at Colorado's Silverton Mountain. Let's call it 'lift-served ski touring'.
